Decision Critical President, Ken Dion, Elected President of the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association

Brooklyn, NY – July 2, 2010 Decision Critical President, Ken Dion, Elected President of the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association

AUSTIN, Texas, April 15, 2010  - The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) is pleased to announce the election of Kenneth W. Dion, MSN, MBA, RN, to serve as president of the FNSNA Board of Trustees. Previously, Mr. Dion was elected to the Board of Trustees as treasurer in 2007 and has served in that role until now. This election comes because of Mr. Dion’s past commitment to the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) and FNSNA.

Mr. Dion’s involvement with NSNA and FNSNA has been extensive and tireless since he served as the 1990-1991 NSNA Secretary/Treasurer. As CEO of Decision Critical, Inc. (Decision Critical), located in Austin, Texas, Mr. Dion offered to host NSNA’s Leadership University website in 1992 and provides Critical Portfolio™ free to NSNA Members. Additionally, Decision Critical provides a generous annual scholarship to undergraduate nursing students through the FNSNA.

“The FNSNA is fortunate to have the commitment and support of our new president, Ken Dion. I look forward to the energy and enthusiasm that he brings to the Board of Trustees, and I know that with his leadership we will continue to advance the mission of the Foundation,” commented Dr. Diane Mancino, FNSNA Executive Director.

Because of his dedication, Mr. Dion received NSNA’s most prestigious award, Honorary Membership, at the Foundation of the NSNA Annual Awards Ceremony during the 2006 NSNA 54th Annual Convention in Baltimore, Maryland.

“It’s an honor to be elected to serve in a leadership role of such a distinguished Foundation,” Mr. Dion said. “I have been a strong supporter of NSNA and their great work since I began my career in nursing. My hope is that by bringing my own nursing and business experience to the Foundation, I will be able to help the Foundation continue to achieve their mission and vision and benefit our profession as a whole.”

"At Texas Tech’s Anita Thigpen Perry School of Nursing, we have also identified the value that an electronic portfolio provides to our faculty members and our organization. Faculty members can track promotions, document teaching accomplishments for tenure, store publications in one place and record other examples of professional success. From an organizational perspective, the value of being able to take a collective view of our faculty and then make pragmatic decisions based on the institution’s needs is immeasurable. Critical Portfolio™, the electronic portfolio solution by Decision Critical, meets all of those needs - and more!"
